Biography


Daniel Knut Pernet was born in Chlumec nad Cidlinou in 1994. He has been attending piano classes since he was six years old, in 2008 he added organ - an instrument he played on in Hradec Králové for five years under the supervision of Bc. Ondřej Mucha. In 2013 he started his studies at Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, studying organ under department of doc. Jaroslav Tůma. At the present time he studies organ playing under the supervision of Prof. Franz Danksagmüller at the Musikhochschule Lübeck.

After his first success - victory in the competition for young organists "Organum Regium" 2012 in Pardubice he becames in October 2016 laureate of Petr Eben International Organ Competition in Opava. He has attended masterclasses with Olivier Latry, Martin Schmeding, Franz Josef Stoiber and others. Apart from Czech Republic, his concerts were held many times in Germany, Sweden, Slovakia and other countries.

His main interest lies in Baroque music, especially in works of german composers, nevertheless, in his repertoire you can find pieces from both czech and foreign authors, ranging from 14th to 21st century. Daniel Knut Pernet is a member of Duae Tastae Cantates collective, a group focused on singing gothic and renaissance spiritual music.
